MANILA – Kenneth Llover is set for the biggest fight of his young yet impressive career when he battles American opponent Michael Angeletti at Aichi Sky Expo in Tokoname, Japan on June 6.
The 12-round showdown would be of huge importance as the International Boxing Federation (IBF) set it as a title eliminator.
Both boxers will come in with perfect records and minor title belts.
Llover, the pride of General Trias City, Cavite, is boasting a 17-0 record with 12 knockouts.
The winner of the showdown between Llover, ranked third by the IBF at the 118-pound division, and Angeletti, ranked fifth, will gain a chance to fight Mexican star Jose Salas for the world title in a future fight.
Llover is not new to fighting in Tokoname as he knocked out hometown bet Ayati Sailike to defend his Oriental Pacific Boxing Federation bantamweight title on Dec. 27, 2025.
On the other hand, Angeletti, from New Orleans, owns a 14-0 record with eight knockouts.
It will be Angeletti’s first bout against a Filipino and his first outside the United States.
Llover currently trains in Tagaytay but on Thursday, he and his team went to Parañaque to show a glimpse of his preparations to the media.
“Talagang bibigyan ko ng isang magandang laban si (I will really give a good fight to) Michael Angeletti,” Llover said during his media conference.
Boxing legend Gerry Peñalosa handles Llover’s career. (PNA)
