MANILA – Authorities seized suspected shabu with an estimated street value of PHP3.4 million and arrested a 40-year-old tricycle driver in an anti-drug operation in Taguig City on April 6.

In a report Thursday, Taguig City Police Station chief Col. Julius Añonuevo said the suspect, who is from Maharlika Village, was arrested in a sting operation along Mindanao Avenue by operatives of the Taguig Police Substation 7 and Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency (PDEA) Southern District Office.

Seized from the suspect were four knot-tied plastic sachets containing 500 grams of suspected shabu.

The suspect is facing charges for violating Republic Act 9165, or the Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002.

Añonuevo said the successful operation reflects sustained coordination among law enforcement units

“This operation shows how closely we’re working with PDEA to go after illegal drugs in Taguig. Tuloy-tuloy ang ating operasyon (Our operations are unceasing). We will make sure those involved are caught and made accountable,” he said. (PNA)
