MANILA – The Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency (PDEA) uprooted PHP6.16 million worth of marijuana plants in two sites in Barangay Tacadang, Kibungan town, Benguet province earlier this week.
In a statement Wednesday, the PDEA Cordillera Administrative Region (CAR) said it destroyed over 30,800 fully grown marijuana plants worth PHP6,160,000 on Monday (Jan. 27) and Tuesday (Jan. 28).
The two-day operations covered a total of 3,850 square meters, according to PDEA-CAR.
The first plantation site housed 6,800 pieces of marijuana plants valued at PHP1.36 million, while the second site contained 24,000 plants valued at PHP4.80 million.
The operatives torched all the marijuana plants on-site. No cultivator was found during the operation. (PNA)
