MANILA – President Ferdinand R. Marcos Jr. on Friday expressed elation over high public satisfaction on his administration, saying it inspires him and all public servants in doing their best to serve the Filipino people.
This was after the Social Weather Stations (SWS), in a survey conducted from Dec. 12 to 18, 2024, found that 59 percent of adult Filipinos were satisfied with the Marcos administration’s performance.
“It’s always good to see that what we are doing is reaching most, the majority of people nararamdaman naman nila ang aming mga ginagawa (they feel what we are doing). It’s very encouraging,” Marcos said in a chance interview in Pasay City, when sought for reaction.
“Syempre lalakas ang loob namin, patibayin pa, pagandahin pa naming ‘yung mga programa (Of course, we will be encouraged to strengthen and improve the programs)… I’m sure it inspires them as well as all of us public servants to continue doing the best that we can for our people,” he added.
Only 23 percent expressed dissatisfaction on the current administration, while 17 percent were ambivalent on the matter, based on the results of the SWS poll.
According to the SWS survey results, the Marcos administration retained a net satisfaction rating of “good” +36.
The administration obtained “very good” ratings in five key areas: helping victims of disaster (+65), improving the quality of children’s education (+60), assisting the poor (+57), job creation policies (+51), and developing science and technology (+51).
Seven areas were rated “good”: implementing housing programs for the poor (+49), ensuring food security (+46), maintaining an efficient public transportation system (+45), disaster preparedness for typhoons (+44), addressing climate change (+38), telling the truth to the people (+34), and defending Philippine sovereignty in the West Philippine Sea (+32).
The administration received a “moderate” rating in ensuring no family goes hungry (+26).
On Thursday, Executive Secretary Lucas Bersamin said the Palace is grateful for the Filipino people’s support, adding that public feedback allows the government to further improve its service delivery. (PNA)
