MANILA – Police officers and Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency (PDEA) agents seized some PHP340 million worth of shabu in Muntinlupa City on Friday.
The operation spearheaded by PDEA Intelligence Service (IS), in coordination with PDEA-National Capital Region Southern District Office and Philippine National Police-Drug Enforcement Unit Muntinlupa, resulted in the arrest of two drug suspects inside a subdivision in Barangay Putatan.
Seized from the suspects “Tita Joy” and “Liezel” were a box containing 25 golden aluminum packs, a luggage containing 20 vacuum-sealed orange packs with the label “Cote d’Ivoire,” a red resuable bag containing five vacuum-sealed orange packs also with the label “Cote d’Ivoire” — all containing shabu with an estimated weight of 50 kilograms.
The two suspects face charges under Sections 5 (Sale of Dangerous Drugs) and 11 (Possession of Dangerous Drugs) of Article II of Republic Act 9165, or the Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002.
