MANILA – The National Capital Region Police Office (NCRPO) on Monday said its operatives apprehended 216,213 individuals in Metro Manila for violating local ordinances, generating PHP64.2 million in fines in February.

NCRPO chief Brig. Gen. Anthony Aberin noticed a consistent increase in violators apprehended, penalized and charged since December 2024 amid intensified enforcement of local ordinances across the region.

NCRPO data showed last month’s violators surpassed the 192,063 offenders recorded in January and 200,642 in December.

Of the 216,213 violators in February, the NCRPO said 126,428 were issued warnings, 86,538 were fined, and 3,249 were charged.

The fines collected also significantly increased from PHP57 million in January and PHP52.7 million in December.

“The increasing trend in our accomplishments reflects our unwavering commitment towards safety and security. With our aggressive and consistency stance in implementing ordinances, we are fostering a culture of discipline, public cooperation, and mutual respect for the rule of law,” Aberin said in a statement.

The five districts under NCRPO are the Manila Police District (MPD), Quezon City Police District (QCPD), Northern Police District (NPD), Southern Police District (SPD), and Eastern Police District (EPD).(PNA)
