MANILA – President Ferdinand R. Marcos Jr. is “well and healthy,” Malacañang said on Saturday, dismissing rumors that the Chief Executive was brought to St. Luke’s Medical Center in Quezon City.

In a text message to reporters, Palace Press Officer Claire Castro said Marcos even had a private meeting with the Presidential Management Staff (PMS) on Saturday morning.

“The President was in a private meeting with PMS this morning. He is well, healthy and working even on a Saturday,” Castro said.

Numerous false claims about Marcos’ health condition have circulated online, including rumors that he has colon cancer.

Fabricated records of Marcos’ medical records were also shared on social media, prompting the National Bureau of Investigation to file cases against the sources of the fake documents.

Marcos has recovered from diverticulitis, a digestive condition involving inflammation of small pouches in the colon. He has resumed his public engagements and remains active.

Malacañang had repeatedly dismissed rumors suggesting that Marcos’ health has deteriorated.

Marcos, 68, took a short break following his diagnosis but consistently assured the public that he is not facing a life-threatening condition. (PNA)
