(Relaxnews) – The opening of “Avengers: Age of Ultron” has dethroned “Furious 7” from atop the box office hit list, bringing in a massive $201 million during its first weekend outside of the United States, according to Rentrak.

In what’s poised to become a summer box office hit, the comic book sequel debuted on April 22 and has thus far opened in only roughly 55 percent of its eventual global market.

Domestically, “Furious 7” held onto to its top spot on the road for the fourth weekend in the row, taking in an estimated $18.3 million, raising its domestic earnings to $320.5 million. Internationally, “Furious 7” has now amassed $1.3 billion, according to Rentrak.

In third place, Alec Su’s coming-of-age film “The Left Ear” broke out with $27 million. The Chinese hit tells the story of a deaf girl who falls with a fellow student and is based on the novel by Rao Xueman.
