(Relaxnews) – Dustin Hoffman’s Quartet is a dramedy about four opera singers reunited in retirement. Headed to North American theaters by the end of the year, its latest trailer has hit the web.

Quartet is based on a play by Ronald Harwood, who scripted Roman Polanski’s The Pianist and Julian Schnabel’s The Diving Bell and the Butterfly.

The film boasts a very British cast, with Maggie Smith in the lead role. She plays a former opera diva with a strong personality who is reunited with former colleagues in a retirement home for retired musicians.

Tom Courtenay, Billy Connolly, Michael Gambon and Pauline Collins are also part of the cast. The movie is set to hit North American theaters on December 28 before reaching British shores in January 2013.
