Pechanga Resort and Casino is home to a wide spectrum of world-class entertainment and gaming experiences. Recently, the Filipino actress and singer Sarah Geronimo displayed her talents in Pechanga’s concert venue, wowing her American fan base with two remarkable shows at the Pechanga Theater on September 7th.

Geronimo is currently one of the most prolific and successful entertainment industry stars in the Philippines. She has produced a wide variety of singles, almost all of which have reached No. 1 on pertinent charts. She also is known for her spectacular performance with John Lloyd Cruz in “You Changed My Life,” the highest grossing Filipino film of all time.

Sarah entertained the crowd with several top radio hits, ranging from Rihanna’s “Where Have You Been” to Adele’s “Set Fire to the Rain/Someone Like You” medley. She also belted out one of the most sung contest pieces in the Philippines – Jennifer Holiday’s “And I Am Telling You.” Filipino audience members in attendance were serenaded with and amazed by contemporary Original Pilipino Music (OPM) hits, including the inspirational song “Sana” and the well known theme song from Geronimo’s top grossing movie “You’ve Changed My Life.” I was personally amazed during the performances by Sarah’s vocal projection, which is especially impressive considering her use of a one-man band, lead by Sir. Louie Ocampo, a renowned Filipino composer.

Mark Bautista was the special guest for the evening and he certainly did not disappoint. He began his set with a well known, upbeat song, the “Old Basil Valdez” OPM medley, a piece that is appreciated by the older Filipino audiences. Sarah and Bautista also performed a memorable duet of James Ingram’s “How Do You Keep the Music Playing.”

Sarah concluded her set with one of her most popular hits, “Forever’s Not Enough,” supported by the masterful Piano work of Vehnee Saturno. Their unique rendition of “Forever’s Not Enough” was extremely intimate and unique, a testament to their artistic prowess. Lastly, Sarah performed the song that won her the Star for a Night contest, Celine Dion’s “To Love You More.”

Sarah’s eclectic performance and personal versatility truly captured the essence of what it takes to be a world-class entertainer. Though Sarah was provided with only two short concert slots, she did not hesitate to pour her heart and soul into her performances, while appealing to both Filipino and foreign audience members at Pechanga.

Pechanga Theater will be hosting a wide variety of performances in the near future including: Jake Shimabukuro on October 5th, Gabriel Iglesias on October 6th, Josh Turner on October 19th, Kathy Griffin on November 3rd, Paris By Night on November 10th and Air Supply on December 29th.

In regards to future Filipino performers, Pechanga will be bringing in Richard Gomez and Rico J. Puno with Patricia Javier on November 16th.
