Former couple Vina Morales and Robin Padilla have no qualms about sharing the big screen again for their movie “Bonifacio: Ang Unang Pangulo”, which is an entry to this year’s Metro Manila Film Festival.

Padilla said he personally picked Morales to play the role of Andres Bonifacio’s wife, Gregoria de Jesus.

Kaya nung tinanong ako, [pinili ko si Vina],” he said.

Padilla said the reason he chose Morales is because it would be hard to fake an on-screen chemistry with someone who he does not have any connection with.

Kasi nagpapa-cute si Andres,” he said.

Morales, on the other hand, is flattered that his former boyfriend had her in mind for the important role.

Ako I always believe, kung talagang if it’s meant to happen, talagang mangyayari. Kasi ako din naman, I didn’t really expect to do a movie this soon. I was very excited na natuloy nga,” she said.

Morales said they are fortunate that their team-up never lost its magic even years after they parted ways in real life.

Thankful kami kasi yung team-up namin, hindi nawawala yung chemistry namin, yung kilig. Sa off-screen, of course kinikilig pa din sila. Maski naman kami pero alam naman namin ang limitasyon namin, alam namin na may hangganan,” she said.

Despite this, Morales is grateful that Padilla’s wife, host Mariel Rodriguez, is nothing but supportive.

With that, okay ako. Masaya ako,” she said.

Aside from the two of them, Padilla said their movie will also star his nephew, teen heartthrob Daniel Padilla, and actress Jasmine Curtis-Smith. (MNS)
