(Relaxnews) – After being dropped by NBC, the Miss USA pageant has been picked up by Reelz.

Following NBC’s decision to end its relationship with the Miss USA Pageant (and Miss Universe Pageant) after Donald Trump’s controversial comments in June, Reelz network has decided to broadcast the event.

In an announcement published on July 2, Reelz explains: “The decision on the part of REELZ to acquire the rights to the MISS USA Pageant was based on our belief that this special event, and the women who compete in it, are an integral part of American tradition”.

The event will be broadcast on July 12 at 8:00 PM ET and PT from Baton Rouge, Louisiana.
