(Relaxnews) – Korea’s tourism board has released the first promotional video featuring the country’s international ambassador to the world, Psy, condensing the country’s culture and assets into ‘Wiki Korea’ soundbites for the uninitiated.

It’s a crash course on the rising Asian powerhouse squeezed into a one-and-a-half minute YouTube clip that touches on the country’s gastronomy, shopping, nightlife and natural resources illustrated by the gratuitous appearance of beautiful women and stylish young men, in keeping with the music videos that made Psy famous.

Kicking off the video, for instance, viewers are taught the term ‘bul geum’ which means ‘gold Friday,’ the night of the week when Koreans de-stress by hitting the dance floors.

‘Dongdaemun’ is another must-know word as the marketplace in Seoul where shoppers can find “the perfect pair of jeans” at 1 am.

The various side dishes that come with every meal, meanwhile, are termed ‘banchan’ and will often be refilled for free, while ‘samgyeopsal’ or grilled pork is one of the most popular dishes among Koreans, the video teaches viewers.

Fans can also enter to win an all-expenses paid trip to Korea with Korean celebrities. Contest closes July 12. Details are available at http://www.ibuzzkorea.com/.
