(Relaxnews) – Where are the chicest pools on earth? This summer we’re bringing you the hottest places to cool down, unwind, and take a stylish dip. Today we’re in London, swimming in the shoes of former Olympians and architectural greats.

Name: London Aquatics Centre

Location: London, UK

What’s the story? Superstar architect Zaha Hadid’s London Aquatics Centre has become one of London’s most iconic architectural gems since being built two years ago. Designed by the Pritzker Prize winner for the 2012 Olympic and Paralympic Games, the 15,950-square-meter building’s design was inspired by the fluid geometry of water in motion, featuring an undulating roof which sweeps up from the ground like a wave. The building, which has just been shortlisted for the prestigious 2014 RIBA Stirling Prize for the UK’s best new building, opened its doors to the public earlier this year.

Taking the plunge: The Centre features a large volumetric pool hall and houses three pools for training, competitions and diving. Members of the public have the option of booking a session online ahead of time. Prices vary, with a child’s entry starting at £2.00 (about US$3.40) and an adult off-peak swim costing £3.50 (about US$5.90).
