MANILA – Ish Polvorosa of Criss Cross has earned the Spikers’ Turf Press Corps Player of the Week presented by Pilipinas Live for the week of March 5 to 9.

Polvorosa is the first setter to receive the citation given by print and online reporters covering the league streamed live and on-demand via the Pilipinas Live app and on www.spikersturf.ph.

He beat teammates Jude Garcia and Jaron Requinton, Savouge’s Mark Calado and Cignal’s Wendel Miguel.

Polvorosa has orchestrated the King Crunchers offense with precision and control, leading the team to a 6-0 record in the 2025 Spikers’ Turf Open Conference.

He made 18 excellent sets and four blocks in their 25-23, 25-21, 25-17 victory over the Cignal HD Spikers last Wednesday at the FilOil EcoOil Arena in San Juan.

Polvorosa also dished out 12 sets as Criss Cross beat Alpha Insurance, 25-10, 25-12, 25-11, last Sunday at the Ynares Sports Arena in Pasig.

“We’ve learned from the past year that it’s not because we won a lot of early games, that’s it. That’s not the goal. At the end of the day, we still need to be steadfast. Our mindset should be one game at a time towards that championship that we dream of,” said the 27-year-old former Ateneo standout.

The King Crunchers will face the VNS-Laticrete Griffins on Wednesday at the Ynares Sports Arena. (PNA)
