MANILA – The Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency (PDEA) agents on Thursday seized roughly 30 kilograms of suspected shabu worth PHP204 million from three individuals in an entrapment operation in Bulacan.

In a statement, PDEA Director General Undersecretary Isagani Nerez said the arrested high-value pushers were identified as alias “Jessie”, 44, from Cavite; “Kristina”, 36, from Quezon City; and “JB”, 21, also a resident of Cavite.

The suspects were arrested in an entrapment operation inside Payogi Leisure Hub along Old Barrio Road in Barangay Minuyan, Norzagaray, Bulacan.

Nerez said the operatives found illegal drugs inside vacuum-sealed plastic bags after the suspects sold two kg of shabu worth PHP13.6 million to a poseur-buyer.

“One operation leads to another. We connected the dots by piecing together information and evidence from our previous operations that ultimately led to the arrest of the suspects who happened to be top-level shabu traffickers,” Nerez said.

“We will use all extracted information to our advantage and continue to operate against drug trafficking syndicates and their underlings. This is in response to the directive of President Ferdinand Marcos Jr. to shut down illegal drug activities and dismantle the drug networks,” he added.

The suspects are in PDEA custody while charges are being prepared against them for violation of Section 5 (sale of dangerous drugs) and Section 11 (possession of dangerous drugs) of the Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act. (PNA)
