MANILA – Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency (PDEA) agents seized 29 kilograms of suspected shabu worth PHP197.2 million from two individuals in a buy-bust in Parañaque City over the weekend.

In a news release on Sunday, PDEA said suspects alias “Jalil,” 44, and “Gracia,” 36, both residents of Cebu City, were arrested in an exclusive subdivision around 5 p.m. Saturday.

Seized were 29 aluminum foil packs labeled “freeze-dried durian” with Chinese characters, each containing a white crystalline substance suspected to be shabu and weighing one kilogram apiece.

Authorities also confiscated mobile phones, buy-bust money, and a pink paper bag used in the transaction.

Both suspects are in PDEA custody while charges are being prepared against for violation of Section 5 (sale of dangerous drugs) and Section 11 (possession of dangerous drugs) of the Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act. (PNA)
