MANILA – The Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency (PDEA) seized PHP1.08 billion worth of illegal drugs during operations from May 23 to 30.

The 63 anti-drug operations included 44 buy-busts, seven marijuana eradication missions, seven search and seizure raids, and five interdiction efforts that led to the arrest of 91 individuals, according to a PDEA news release Sunday.

The operations were part of the agency’s intensified campaign under President Ferdinand R. Marcos Jr.’s directive for a sustained crackdown on the drug trade.

Confiscated were 156,407.80 grams of shabu, 80.94 grams of dried marijuana leaves, 5,000 grams of dried marijuana stalks, and 61,662 marijuana plants.

On May 26, a PDEA raid in Barangay Pampang, Angeles City, Pampanga led to the discovery of P1 billion worth of shabu.

“These accomplishments reflect our dedication to integrity, service, and public safety. We will remain vigilant and relentless in our mission to free our communities from the threat of illegal drugs,” PDEA Director General Undersecretary Isagani Nerez said. (PNA)
