ZAMBOANGA CITY – Anti-narcotics operatives confiscated PHP7.1 million worth of shabu and arrested two suspects in separate Zamboanga Peninsula operations Wednesday, marking the region’s largest drug haul this month.
Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency (PDEA)-Region 9 Director Maharani Gadaoni-Tosoc identified the suspects as Nasrodin Acmad, 32, and Khaleed Aquilan, 22.
Acmad was caught selling one kilogram of shabu to undercover agents in Tukuran, Zamboanga del Sur.
“He was arrested after selling transparent packs containing 1,000 grams of suspected shabu amounting to PHP6.8 million to a PDEA poseur-buyer,” Tosoc said.
Authorities recovered marked money, a tricycle, and drug paraphernalia.
In a simultaneous raid in Titay town, meanwhile, Aquilan yielded 50 grams of shabu.
Both face charges under the Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act. The operations involved PDEA, police, military, and Coast Guard personnel. (PNA)
