MANILA – The Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency (PDEA) seized PHP816 million worth of suspected shabu concealed in inbound parcels from California, USA.

PDEA Director General Isagani Nerez said authorities confiscated 120 kilograms of shabu in Pasig City Sunday, in line with President Ferdinand R. Marcos Jr.’s directive to intensify the campaign against illegal drugs.

The PDEA–National Capital Region Eastern District Office led the operation, in collaboration with the Southern District Office, PDEA-Airport Interdiction Unit K-9 Unit, Eastern Police District, District Drug Enforcement Unit, and Pasig City Police Station.

The illegal drugs were ingeniously packed inside assorted chip boxes shipped from multiple addresses in California and addressed to multiple consignees in Taguig, Pasig and Makati.

Nerez said the evidence were forwarded to the PDEA laboratory service for confirmatory analysis, with case documentation and legal procedures underway.

“This interdiction success is a product of strong collaboration between PDEA and our law enforcement partners. Our presence in major airports, seaports, and cargo facilities is not just necessary. It is imperative,” he added.

PDEA urged the public to stay vigilant and report suspicious packages or drug-related activities. Reports may be made anonymously through the agency’s official social media platforms. (PNA)
