(LOS ANGELES-Relaxnews) – Now that the Golden Globes have been awarded, Academy Awards season officially kicks off with the 2012 launch of its “Oscar Digital Experience” leading up to the 84th Academy Awards on February 26.

The morning of January 24 when the Oscar nominees are announced, will post videos of reactions from social media as part of the digital component.

The website also features a comedy video with host Billy Crystal and an official blog.

Red carpet coverage will extend behind the scenes at the pre-Oscar event and continue during the ceremony at the Kodak Theatre and after the show at the Governors Ball, online and on iPad, iPhone and iPod Touch.

Upcoming online content will also include live behind-the-scenes footage, an original video series, insider commentary, the My Oscar Picks game, and tips on hosting Oscar parties.

On January 29, Oscar Talks focus on the Actor, Actress, Directing and Best Picture races. Fans can track and tweet on the Oscar Buzz social media page, which gathers the hastags #Oscars and #OscarBuzz.

On February 11, Best Dressed will cover stylists and makeup artists and will also offer post-show analysis of Oscar night fashion.

My Oscar Picks is an online game that allows viewers to test their winner prediction skills during the telecast.

Also on the site, a timeline presents Oscar History, with stars from Elizabeth Taylor winning Best Actress for Who’s Afraid of Virginia Woolf? to Peter Jackson for The Lord of the Rings.

The 84th Academy Awards will be telecast live February 26 on ABC-TV from the Kodak Theatre in Hollywood.
