New ‘Chronicles of Narnia’ film in the pipeline

TriStar, the Mark Gordon Company and Entertainment One have signed on to finance the next adaptation of C.S. Lewis’ “Chronicles of Narnia” book series.

The feature, titled “The Silver Chair”, will take place after the events of “The Voyage of the Dawn Treader”, when Prince Caspian has become King Caspian, with “Life of Pi”and “Finding Neverland” writer David Magee attached to pen the script.

“The Chronicles of Narnia” film franchise began in 2005 and grossed more than $1.6 billion at the global box office in total from three films, including the first movie in the series “The Lion, the Witch and the Wardrobe”, followed by “Prince Caspian” and “Voyage of the Dawn Treader” which were released in 2008 and 2010 respectively.

This will be the first voyage into Narnia for The Mark Gordon Company, which announced plans for a fourth “Chronicles of Narnia” movie back in 2013 (via The Hollywood Reporter).
