(Relaxnews) – The baseball season might only just have finished, but for the developers of “MLB 14: The Show” it’s an opportune time to annouce the next in their long-running series.
Starting with the 2014 iteration — which will be released on PlayStation 4, PS3 and Vita — career mode progression will be transferable between successive versions of the game.
There’s also a new feature that allows games to conclude in almost half the time. In the Quick Count mode, a nine-inning game can take “less than 30 minutes,” according to PlayStation’s sports specialist Tyler Vaught.
The Detroit Tigers’ award-winning Miguel Cabrera was revealed as cover athlete at the 2013 Player’s Choice Awards on November 4, having won an MLB vote, while Canadian fans are to be offered a separate opportunity to decide a national cover athlete.
Just as with entries to competing series “MLB 2K,” previous editions of “MLB: The Show” have launched early in March, three weeks in advance of the MLB season for real; 2013’s edition was the first to receive a release in European regions.
