Actor Matteo Guidicelli laughed off talks that he and girlfriend Sarah Geronimo had a recent falling out.
Apparently, rumors started to swirl when Sarah did not show up to cheer the celebrity athlete during a triathlon competition in Cebu last Sunday.
“Wala naman,” Matteo said.
Matteo refused to give in to prodding, standing firm on keeping details about their romance private.
“It’s better that way,” he insisted. “I just want to (separate my) work from (my) love life.”
Matteo is gearing up for the promo of his upcoming film “Somebody to Love.” Sarah, on the other hand, is still busy with “ASAP 19” after finishing her coaching stint on “The Voice Kids.”
While there may be challenges ahead of them, Matteo is “banking on the strong (foundation of their) relationship” to keep things on even keel.
Even before Sarah was recognized as this year’s “Most Beautiful Star” by an entertainment magazine, Matteo had been telling people that she’s a total standout.
“Siyempre I’m very proud (of her) eh,” he said.
Matteo shared how Sarah wouldn’t believe him when he tells her how beautiful she is.
“The whole country’s telling her now (that she’s beautiful), so, she has to believe na, ’di ba? Not just the whole country nga eh, but the whole world,” he related.
Matteo himself is part of the 100 Most Beautiful Stars list, making him and his sweetheart quite the match.
“I’m very blessed (to be included), siyempre you’re with amazing and very beautiful people,” he said.
Being a sports enthusiast, Matteo is fortunate that Sarah is also fond of physical activities. However, they haven’t had a chance to work out together lately.
Asked if Sarah already used the workout clothes she received from him as gift during her 26th birthday celebration last July 25, Matteo said, “Ginagamit (na) niya sa sarili niyang workout.”
He added, “Bising-busy kasi siya ngayon eh, madami siyang ginagawa.”
On Sarah’s birthday celebration, the hunk denied that he was alone with the Pop Star Princess on her special day.
He maintained that the surprise party tended for Sarah by family and friends was the only celebration they had. “’Yun na ’yun… simple get-together.”
Matteo is, no doubt, passionate about joining triathlons.
During the recent Ironman 70.3 in Cebu, participated in by other celebrities like Kim Atienza, Piolo Pascual and Ryan Agoncillo, the Filipino-Italian finished the circuit in five hours and 28 minutes. However, he was eight minutes short of his finishing time last year.
“I wasn’t that ready this year but I did my best. Mahirap talaga (tapos) masakit pa ’yung legs (ko),” he said. “I was in America for four weeks for shows, and I went back, basically four weeks lang ’yung preparation for this race.”
Nevertheless, he had fun, noting how “the community of triathlon is very positive. It was nice to meet amazing people and it’s a very good sport for everybody.”
Matteo was recently named ambassador of LINE, an application that allows users to make free voice calls and send free messages to other LINE users.(MNS)
