MANILA – Malacañang on Monday dismissed speculations about President Ferdinand R. Marcos Jr.’s health, assuring the public that the Chief Executive is in good condition and continuing his official duties.

Palace Press Officer Claire Castro made the clarification after Marcos skipped a scheduled event with returning overseas Filipino workers, fueling questions online.

“Maayos po siya (He’s well),” Castro said in a press briefing.

She noted that the President was set to attend another official engagement later in the day, including an oath-taking ceremony for vice mayors.

Castro also urged the public to rely on verified information, warning against unsubstantiated claims circulating on social media.

“Siguro mas mangingibabaw dapat ang mainstream media kaysa sa mga socmed na walang basehan (I think news from the mainstream media is more reliable than those baseless social media claims),” she said, adding that fake news continues to proliferate online. (PNA)
