MANILA – The low-pressure area (LPA) east of the country may turn into a tropical cyclone, the weather bureau said Saturday.
In its 4 a.m. bulletin, the Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration (PAGASA) said the LPA entered the Philippine Area of Responsibility (PAR) at 2 a.m. and was last spotted at 1,150 km. east of southeastern Luzon.
PAGASA said it has a high chance of turning into a tropical cyclone within the next 12 hours, although it still has no direct effect on the country.
The country will experience generally fair weather conditions with isolated rain showers due to the easterlies or localized thunderstorms.
Light to moderate winds and slight to moderate seas will prevail across the archipelago.
Meanwhile, Typhoon Yinxing, formerly Marce, was last spotted 500 km..west of Laoag City (outside PAR), with maximum sustained winds of 155 kph and gustiness of up to 190 kph, moving west-northwestward at 20 kph. (PNA)
