Lonely Planet releases guide to national parks of America

Lonely Planet has released a new title in honor of the 100th anniversary of the US National Park Service this summer, covering all 59 parks in a single guide.

Lonely Planet’s “National Parks of America” is a hardcover edition that features landscape photography and original wildlife illustrations of the country’s 59 national parks. The book also includes practical information on how to visit the destinations, such as the best activities and trails, how to get there, where to stay, the wildlife to look out for, and itinerary suggestions.

The book release is also timed to coincide with National Park Week, which started April 16 and wraps up April 24.

The National Park Services fetes its centennial birthday August 25.

“National Parks of America” is 328 pages and retails for $29.99.
