(LOS ANGELES-Relaxnews) – Paramount Pictures is in negotiations with pop singer/songwriter Katy Perry for the film rights to a biopic and concert film in 3D, per media reports.
According to Deadline Hollywood, footage for the film has already been shot by director Nanette Burstein, who has made the documentaries American Teen and The Kid Stays in the Picture, the biopic of film business mogul Robert Evans based on his autobiography by the same name.
Perry’s concert performances were apparently filmed last year in 3D by AEG and Imagine Entertainment. This feature film will also include the story of her Christian childhood and the road to career fame.
The award-winning Perry has sold more than 11 million albums worldwide. Her third album, Teenage Dream, has boasted six top ten hit songs.
Paramount last year released the successful biopic about teen pop sensation Justin Bieber: Never Say Never, which earned $98.4 million worldwide.
The plan is to release Perry’s film this summer.
