Actress Jodi Sta. Maria thanked televiewers after her newest TV project “Be Careful With My Heart” shot up in the ratings chart on its first week.
The morning romantic-comedy series quickly captured the hearts of viewers nationwide as it ruled the daytime block, based on the data of Kantar Media last July 13.
The new Kapamilya show garnered 17.2% national TV ratings, while its rival program “Chef Boy Logro Kusina Master” only got 9.9%. All the episodes in the show’s pilot week also made it in the country’s top 10 overall TV programs.
“We were optimistic about the show’s ratings but we weren’t expecting it would be this high,” Sta. Maria said.
The actress said she and the rest of the cast are really overwhelmed with the response.
“In the beginning, all we wanted was to give the morning audience something new and fun. But the response was overwhelming and we’re so thankful for that,” she said.
Sta. Maria attributed its success to the feel-good touch of her show, which she headlines with actor Richard Yap.
“I think the viewers wanted something new in their daytime routine. Maybe the viewers appreciate the lightness of the show. Also, through our show, people are reminded that despite the trials and complexities of life, we have a choice to still be positive about it,” she said.
“Be Careful With My Heart” airs on ABS-CBN channel 2 every 10:45 a.m. before “It’s Showtime.” (MNS)
