After a 12-year absence from the concert scene, singer-actress Jessa Zaragoza is getting ready for her comeback solo show.
Zaragoza announced that she will be mounting her solo concert “I Am Me” on January 5 at the Music Museum in Greenhills.
She said it’s the time for her to go back to her passion, which is singing.
“Sobrang excited ako sa project na ito. Sabi ko kay Dingdong (Avanzado, her husband), tuloy na natin itong concert. Noon pa niya ako sinasabihan to do a concert. Tapos sabi ko na lang sa kanya one day I want to do the concert. I want to perform again ng solo. Sabi ko I want to be ready, ‘yung mind ko nandoon wholeheartedly, hindi lang ‘yung kasi kailangan,” Zaragoza told reporters in an interview.
“Dito sa reportoire ko sa concert, sabi ko I am being true with my music. Lahat talaga ng songs ko dito sa concert na ito ay kanta ko, hit songs ko,” Zaragoza stressed.
Zaragoza is best known for the OPM hit “Bakit Pa.”
“Pati yung mga songs na gusto ko from my albums na hindi naging single, kakantahin ko,” she said, adding that she’s taking voice lessons again as part of her preparation.
Aside from singer, Zaragoza said she will also be dancing in the concert.
“My fantasy as a dancer will be showcased in this show,” she said. “I will be sharing different parts of my journey as a singer in this show, that’s why it’s entitled ‘I Am Me.’” (MNS)
