Ozawa is part of the Metro Manila Film Festival entry “Nilalang”, which also stars Cesar Montano and Meg Imperial.
Comparing her experience in doing movies in the Philippines and Japan, she said: “Everything was new to me, totally different from Japan, from what I’ve experienced. And I love it here, [it’s] way better than Japan… So much fun.”
“I tried martial arts, ninja works and all the gun shooting, which is so much fun. Yes, action was really fun,” she added.
Ozawa went on to encourage Filipinos to watch “Nilalang” on December 25. “Everything is super fantastic—the action scenes and the horror and suspense, everything is in this movie. So just please go and watch it,” she said.
She also praised her co-star, Montano, describing him as “gentleman-type” and “nice.”
Imperial, who was with Ozawa during the interview, also shared her excitement for her latest movie project.
“Yes, excited kami at pinaghirapan namin ‘yung film. And to think na bago sa amin ito, sobrang bago ‘yung ginawa namin dito,” she said.
“Nilalang” made headlines when actor Robin Padilla backed out of the movie to focus on taking care of his wife, Mariel Rodriguez, who was then experiencing a delicate pregnancy.
Days after his exit from the project, Padilla and Rodriguez lost their triplets to miscarriage.
The film was initially cancelled but was revived when Montano signed to take over Padilla’s role. (MNS)
