Fans of Janice de Belen are in for a shock after the veteran actress revealed that her upcoming movie “Ringgo, The Dog Shooter” features the most daring scenes she has ever done in her entire showbiz career.

In the indie film, which is one of the six finalists in the Filipino New Cinema section of the 3rd World Premieres Film Festival, the veteran actress and Liza Diño play a lesbian couple.

The movie is directed by Rahyan Carlos and written by Ricky Lee.

In a press conference on Wednesday, de Belen admitted that she felt uncomfortable doing the love scenes with Diño and was even hoping that the director would agree not to do them anymore.

“I have to be honest, siyempre nahihiya talaga ako. First time ko siyang gagawin sa pelikula.

You know we have the same materials and the same arms to work with and I’m not used to that.”

De Belen said she even feels nervous just talking about the love scenes.

Because from what I’ve read, sa pakiramdam ko, hindi kailangan. But then it’s not my vision, I’m not the director, I’m not the writer.”

“The compromise was can we do it on the last day of shooting, para siguro nakasama mo na ang kasama mo, parang naka-get over ka na sa fact na ito ang gagawin mo.

For her part, Dino said she had to make an extra effort to make her co-star feel at ease.

“I think more than anything we really have to be comfortable with each other. Talagang naramdaman ko sa kanya ‘yung discomfort and when I felt that she’s really uncomfortable with that, nag-uusap kami at nagkukuwentuhan kami,” said Diño, the wife of singer Aiza Seguerra.

Pero siguro ang maganda throughout the course of our relationship here as co-actors, I hope I was able to tell na I made her comfortable na we’re just like anybody else na when we love, we love, just like heterosexuals do.”

“Ringgo, The Dog Shooter” will be shown from June 29 to July 10 in cinemas.(MNS)
