(Relaxnews) – The two actors are in talks to share the screen in the new thriller starring and produced by Johnny Depp, Variety reveals.

Gwyneth Paltrow and Ewan McGregor seem to be keen on acting in the new film, which is equal parts thriller, spy movie and adventure film, with a touch of satire.

A producer on the film, Johnny Depp has also reserved the title role for himself. The actor will portray Charlie Mortdecai, a London art dealer with a lacerating wit, a penchant for liquor and a knack for conniving and scheming.

Based on a series of novels by Kyril Bonfiglioli, the film will be directed by David Koepp. The screenplay describes Charlie Mortdecai’s chaotic pursuit of a stolen painting containing the code to a well-stocked Nazi bank account. Shooting on the film is expected to begin before the end of 2013.
