MANILA – The Department of Public Works and Highways (DPWH) on Monday condemned the killing of an engineer of the DPWH Northern Samar 1st District Engineering Office.
In a statement, the department expressed sympathies to the family of Karen Corsino Del Valle who was shot in Catarman on Monday.
“DPWH stands in solidarity with Engr. Del Valle’s family and urges authorities to conduct a swift and thorough investigation,” the statement read.
DPWH Secretary Vince Dizon and former Northern Samar First District Rep. Paul Daza each offered PHP100,000 reward for information that could lead to the arrest of the suspect.
“We also pray for the speedy recovery of Engr. Del Valle’s brother, who was injured and is currently in critical condition,” the DPWH said.
The 25-year-old female engineer died after sustaining a gunshot wound to the head while her brother was wounded after her former partner allegedly shot them in Catarman, Northern Samar. (PNA)
