ACTRESS Angel Locsin said she does not see herself as a politician even as her boyfriend, television host-actor Luis Manzano, is already contemplating seeking public office next year.
Locsin said she prefers to help people in other ways.
Pakiramdam ko, mas magpa-function ako na nagpa-follow kaysa sa pagiging leader,” she said in an interview late last week.
Locsin added that those who run for political office should have a good grasp of their job and responsibilities.
“Being a leader, mas iba yung power na kailangan mo talaga din. Kailangan napapasunod mo talaga yung mga tao. I think I’m more of a follower. At saka may pagka-pasaway po ako,” she said.
When asked to comment on the statement of Batangas Governor Vilma Santos, mother of Manzano, that she has the potential to become a good public servant, the actress said she’s flattered but maintained she wants to stay away from politics.
But if Manzano will run for any position in Batangas, the 30-year-old said she will definitely support the television host.
Manzano, in an earlier interview, said he’s yet to decide whether to continue his showbiz career or try his hands on government service. (MNS)
