Oscar-winning actress Alicia Vikander (“Anna Karenina”, “The Danish Girl”, “Ex Machina”, “The Man from U.N.C.L.E.”) will play a married woman in 17th-century Amsterdam who falls in love with the character of DeHaan (“Kill your Darlings”, “The Amazing Spider-Man 2”), a painter hired to do her portrait. Waltz will play Vikander’s husband, who commissions the painting.

“Tulip Fever” is produced by Justin Chadwick, and adapted from a script by Tom Stoppard. The plot is based on Deborah Moggach’s 1999 novel of the same name.
