Aiko Melendez has been vocal about her admiration for Kim Chiu but working with her on “The Story of Us” only made her respect the young actress even more.

Melendez said she has been keeping track of Chiu’s career even before.

“I follow her work and I always have good words for her. When I got the chance to work with her, I’ve seen the discipline. Mas napalapit ‘yung paghanga ko sa kanya into respect,” she said.

Melendez said she likes how Chiu remains humble despite being one of ABS-CBN’s biggest stars today.

“Kasi sa akin, more than anything else, ‘yung humility niya talaga ‘yung nagustuhan ko sa kanya. Amid her name as Kim Chiu, she is a big star in ABS right now, I admire Kim. I have respect for her and I have been very vocal about it. I really like her as an actress but more than being an actress, ‘yung pagkatao niya ang ganda. She has a good soul,” she said.

On the show, which also stars Xian Lim and Zsa Zsa Padilla., Melendez plays the role of Chiu’s stepmother.

Directed by Mae Cruz-Alviar, “The Story of Us” airs weeknights after “Dolce Amore.” (MNS)
