MANILA – The National Bureau of Investigation (NBI) Southern Mindanao office has arrested a woman who operated a spa that exploited minors in Davao City.

In a news release on Friday, the NBI-Southern Mindanao Regional Office said alias “Madam Ram” was arrested at the Heaven Personal Massage Spa on Oct. 7.

The mother and grandmother of a 15-year-old sought help from the NBI after discovering that the massage parlor used sex workers of minor age for PHP3,500 per illicit service.

An operation was conducted, resulting in the arrest of the suspect and the rescue of the victim.

The suspect was charged for violation of Republic Act (RA) No. 10364, otherwise known as the Expanded Anti-Trafficking in Persons Act in relation to RA 7610 or the Special Protection of Children Against Abuse, Exploitation, and Discrimination Act.

The rescued minor was turned over to the Department of Social Welfare and Development for debriefing and medical examination. (PNA)
