MANILA – President Ferdinand R. Marcos Jr. on Wednesday welcomed reports of growing public support for him and his administration, saying it inspires him to work even harder for the country’s betterment.
This, after the results of the Social Weather Stations’ (SWS) June 25 to 29 survey showed an increase in public satisfaction with Marcos’ performance in the second quarter of 2025.
While he maintained that his work performance should not be measured by numbers alone, Marcos expressed gratitude knowing that more Filipinos are satisfied with his efforts to give them a more comfortable life.
“I have no idea. I don’t look so much at [survey results]. Of course, it’s so nice to know. I did not know about that, but now that you tell me, of course I’m glad that it’s that way,” he said in an interview in Masbate City.
“I guess it’s just we just have to keep working. ‘Yun lang (That’s all),” Marcos added.
Marcos emphasized the importance of delivering real progress and providing immediate services to the people.
He said government officials should remain focused on working for the country instead of engaging in politics for personal gain.
“Whatever is happening, kahit na anong nangyayari, kahit may bagyo, kahit may skandalo, kahit may gulo, ang taumbayan ay umaasa sa pamahalaan na tuloy ang serbisyo, tuloy ang trabaho ng pamahalaan (no matter what happens – whether there’s a typhoon, a scandal, or unrest – the people expect the government to continue its service, to continue its work) at every level, at the national level, at the local level),” Marcos said.
Around 46 percent of adult Filipinos were satisfied with Marcos’ performance, while 36 percent were dissatisfied and 19 percent were undecided, yielding a net satisfaction score of “moderate” +10, according to the SWS’ non-commissioned survey released on Tuesday.
The poll results saw a significant 20-point improvement from the “poor” -10 net score logged in April 2025, reversing the downward trend observed over the past three quarters. (PNA)
