MANILA – Authorities rescued seven minors from online sexual exploitation during an operation in Barangay Calzada-Tipas, Taguig City on Sept. 3.

The late-night rescue was carried out by police operatives of Camp Crame, with support from the Taguig Women and Children Protection Desk.

Local social workers were on-site to provide immediate medical checkups, medico-legal processing, and psychosocial assistance to the victims, who will later be transferred to a child-care facility for rehabilitation.

Two women were arrested in the operation.

Investigators said the victims’ mother had been recording and selling lewd videos of her children to foreign clients for PHP2,500 per transaction.

She was allegedly aided by her 19-year-old daughter, who also exploited her own three-year-old child.

Both suspects are facing charges under the Anti-Trafficking in Persons Act, the Anti-Child Pornography Act, and the Special Protection of Children Against Abuse, Exploitation and Discrimination Act. (PNA)
