
MANILA – A magnitude 5.0 earthquake rocked southwest of Calatagan, Batangas on Tuesday.
According to the Philippine Institute of Volcanology and Seismology (Phivolcs), the strong earthquake occurred at 5:25 p.m. at a depth of 133 km.
The quake is a tectonic in origin and was also felt at Intensity II in Paluan, Mamburao and Sta. Cruz in Occidental Mindoro province.
Phivolcs categorized a magnitude 5.0 earthquake as strong, but damage is not expected. (PNA)
