MANILA, July 2 (Mabuhay) –The Department of Health (DOH) on Friday logged 1,243 new COVID-19 cases, raising the nationwide tally to 3,705,649.

This is the highest daily tally reported since February 26 when 1,223 infections were recorded.

The country’s active case tally also climbed to 8,706 from 7,871 on Thursday.

Among the top regions with cases in the last two weeks were the National Capital Region with 5,120, followed by Calabarzon with 1,832, Western Visayas with 898, Central Luzon with 727, and Central Visayas with 488.

The number of recoveries rose to 3,636,378 while the death toll increased to 60,565.

The bed occupancy rate stood at 18.3% with 5,339 beds occupied compared to 23,914 vacant as of Thursday.

A total of 19,396 individuals were tested on June 30, while 327 testing laboratories submitted data. (MNS)
