MANILA – More than 10,000 police officers and force multipliers will be deployed across Metro Manila to ensure public safety during the Holy Week and summer vacation, the National Capital Region Police Office (NCRPO) announced Saturday.
Strong police presence at 300 churches (1,071 officers), along major roads managing traffic (791 officers), at transport hubs ensuring smooth journeys (399 officers), in malls and business centers (592 officers), and in parks and recreational spaces (982 officers) are among the security pkans, NCRPO Director Maj. Gen. Anthony Aberin said in a news release.
The deployment will begin April 14.
To further secure Metro Manila, 286 officers will be stationed at entry points, 647 at checkpoints, and over 2,000 on foot patrol in strategic locations.
Nearly 2,000 mobile and motorcycle units will also patrol city streets.
Covert teams will be conducting security assessments, while a Reactionary Standby Support Force is on alert for emergencies.
“We will have 24/7 security coverage. Our target is to secure key locations, from serene places of worship to bustling transport terminals and busy commercial areas,” Aberin said.
He urged officers to remain alert and focused, adding that senior NCRPO officials, including himself, will be on the ground to oversee operations.
He also reminded the public to stay cautious and help maintain security in their communities. (PNA)
